Axis Magnus Fee Jumps to ₹12,500 + GST for New Users

If you’ve been eyeing the Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card, the latest update makes the entry cost noticeably steeper. Axis Bank is increasing the annual fee from ₹10,000 to ₹12,500 + GST for new applications from May 1, 2026. That’s a meaningful jump, especially for anyone evaluating premium cards on pure value.

The good news for existing cardholders is that they retain the current fee until their next renewal. So if you already have Magnus, you’re not being hit immediately. But for new applicants, the card is now more expensive to get into, and that changes the math quite a bit.

The benefit side is staying steady, at least for now. Complimentary Meet & Greet and 8 Priority Pass visits per year are being retained. That matters because Magnus has always been the kind of card people look at for premium travel treatment and airport convenience. When a card’s fee rises but the headline perks stay the same, the pressure is on the cardholder to decide whether those benefits are still worth paying more for.

This is one of those updates that doesn’t remove value, but it does make the card harder to recommend casually. A premium card can absolutely justify a higher fee if the benefits are strong enough and used often enough. But if you’re not making use of the Meet & Greet service or the Priority Pass visits, the new pricing will feel less attractive than before.

For existing users, the key question is whether the current fee structure still offers enough value to keep the card at renewal. Since the fee change only applies to new applications from May 1, 2026, current cardholders have a little breathing room. That said, premium cardholders should always keep an eye on renewal time, because that’s when the real decision usually happens.

The bottom line: Axis Magnus is getting more expensive for new applicants, while the core perks remain unchanged. If you’re already holding the card, you have time before the higher fee affects you. If you’re considering applying, make sure the retained benefits are worth the new price tag.
