Axis Magnus Annual Fee Jumps to ₹12,500 for New Users

Axis Bank has made a meaningful pricing change to the Magnus Credit Card, and new applicants will feel it immediately. The annual fee is going up from ₹10,000 to ₹12,500 + GST for new applications from May 1, 2026. Existing cardholders are protected for now, since they will keep the current fee until their next renewal.

The good news is that Axis is not stripping away every premium perk at the same time. The card still includes complimentary Meet & Greet and 8 Priority Pass visits per year, so the travel side of the product remains intact. But the fee hike is still a real shift, because it raises the bar for anyone trying to justify Magnus purely on value.

This kind of change matters most for people who are evaluating premium cards on a simple cost-versus-benefit basis. A higher annual fee means the card has to work harder for you, whether through travel perks, premium experiences, or strong reward value. If you were already on the fence about Magnus, this fee increase makes the decision a little tougher for fresh applicants.

For existing users, the timing is important. Since the current fee continues until the next renewal, there is a short window where the old pricing still applies. That gives current cardholders some breathing room to decide whether the card still earns its place in the wallet. For new applicants, though, the value equation has clearly changed.

What should you do? If you’re considering Axis Magnus, apply only if the premium benefits genuinely fit your spending and travel habits, because the ₹12,500 + GST fee is now the new reality for fresh applications from May 1, 2026. If you already hold the card, use the current fee period to reassess whether the benefits still justify renewal. This is not a card to keep casually anymore — it needs to earn its cost.
